Teaching – Integrating Spirituality and Creative Expression

Since 2006 Rabbi Sarah has served numerous congregations and Jewish community organizations as an educator, community builder and spiritual/rabbinic leader.  As part of the trans-denominational Rabbinical School of Hebrew College, Rabbi Sarah has worked in numerous community organizations providing services to people from all walks of Jewish life. She has taught at kids and adults at Temple Shir Tikvah in Winchester, MA and Congregation Or HaTzafon in Fairbanks, Alaska; Mayyim Hayyim Living Waters Community Mikveh and Education Center, BIMA and Genesis Summer High School Programs at Brandeis University; MIT Hillel; and Sibley Memorial Hospital.

She has taught classes in Handmade Midrash, Torah Yoga, Jewish Diversity, Demystifying Prayer, and other courses combining art and spirituality for students of all ages. Rabbi Sarah leads Rosh Chodesh (New Moon) workshops utilizing visual art, creative writing, and music to help participants set and work on spiritual goals within the context of an safe and intentional group.

Rabbi Sarah uses a hands-on approach to education, allowing students to express themselves creatively in her experiential Jewish learning classes and Torah study sessions. She brings warmth, a rich knowledge of tradition, and accessibility to meet students where ever they are in order make learning a meaningful experience.
